WNY Childbirth is a professional childbirth service working to provide pregnancy, labor, and post-partum support to families in the Buffalo area. My goal is to help prepare women for childbirth through education and planning. I will support you in whatever type of birth you hope to have, with physical and emotional support.

Why Take Classes?

Most women today have never been around a woman in labor, in fact, the first time they set foot in a labor room is when they are the one giving birth. By preparing and learning about the natural process woman can be prepared for the big day. When women understand the reasons for the powerful contractions they are not as fearful of the process. By learning to relax and cope with the contractions rather than fight them, women are able to have a positive labor experience.

What is a Doula?

The word doula is a Greek word meaning "woman's servant", and that is truly what a modern doula should be. A doula takes care of the mother during labor by attending to her needs and helping others around her do the same.

What does a doula do?

A doula provides prenatal education about the birth process, tips to help prepare for labor, constant hands on support in labor and a supporting role to help dad be totally involved in the process.
